Volleyball Game Preview: Mountain Vista Golden Eagles vs. Eaglecrest Raptors

The Mountain Vista Golden Eagles will take on the Eaglecrest Raptors at 12:00 p.m. on Friday. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Mountain Vista comes in on 11 and Eaglecrest on three.

Mountain Vista is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Thursday. They blew past Valor Christian 3-0.

The victory didn't come easy: Valor Christian scored at least 18 points in every set. The final score came out to 25-20, 25-18, 25-19.

Meanwhile, Eaglecrest faced Discovery Canyon in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Thursday. The Raptors walked away with a 3-1 win over the Thunder.

Eaglecrest had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next three. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 26-28, 25-16, 25-15, 25-13.

Mountain Vista's victory was their 15th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 24-2. As for Eaglecrest, their win bumped their record up to 22-4.

Mountain Vista took their victory against Eaglecrest in their previous matchup last Monday by a conclusive 3-0 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Golden Eagles since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
