Basketball Recap: Southwood Takes Loss Despite Strong Efforts from Emery Liddick and Bryce Wilcox

Southwood lost against Adams Central back in February of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Southwood Knights lost to the Adams Central Flying Jets at home by a 75-58 margin. The Knights have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Despite the defeat, Southwood had strong showings from Bryce Wilcox, who dropped a double-double with 23 points and ten boards, and Emery Liddick, who went 6-for-13 to rack up 17 points. Wilcox has been hot, having posted eight or more rebounds the last six times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Dalton Barney, who posted four points and five assists.

Even though they lost, Southwood smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 13 offensive boards. That's the most offensive rebounds they've posted since back in November of 2024.

Southwood now has a losing record of 9-10. As for Adams Central, the win was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 11-7.

Looking ahead, Southwood and Northfield will meet in a classic North v. South matchup at 7:45 p.m. on Friday. As for Adams Central, they and Eastside will face off at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday without much rest, having both just played.
