Softball Recap: Avondale Takes a Loss

Avondale came into their game on Tuesday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They lost 26-2 to the Troy Colts. The defeat continues a trend for the Yellowjackets in their meetings with the Colts: they've now lost three in a row.

Isabel Beltinck was cooking despite her team's loss, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI. She has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times she's played. Kate Smith also deserves some recognition as she snagged her first stolen bases of the season.

Avondale's loss dropped their record down to 1-11. As for Troy, they pushed their record up to 5-8 with the victory, which was their third straight at home.

While Avondale had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair will be back at it again later today.
