The Geneva Knights will challenge The First Academy Royals at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Geneva has three straight wins, The First Academy has three straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the field.
On Thursday, Geneva got the win against Winter Park by a conclusive 16-5. Considering the Knights have won 11 matches by more than nine runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

Bella Ortiz made a big impact no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out nine batters over six innings while giving up just two earned (and three unearned) runs off three hits. With that strong performance, she is now averaging an impressive 5.1 strikeouts per game. She was also big at the plate, getting on base in four of her five plate appearances with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.
In other batting news, Geneva got a massive performance out of Ella Ingram, who went 3-for-5 with three runs and two RBI. That's the most hits Ingram has posted since back in March of 2024. Chloe Incinelli was another key player, going 1-for-4 with four runs and one stolen base.
Geneva was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .432. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .432 or higher in three consecutive contests.
Meanwhile, The First Academy came up short against Mount Dora Christian Academy on Monday and fell 6-2.
Geneva's victory was their seventh straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 14-3. The road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 15.3 runs over those games. As for The First Academy, their loss dropped their record down to 9-11.
The First Academy's hitters will have their work cut out for them on Tuesday. Geneva has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 7.4 strikeouts per game. It's a different story for The First Academy, though, as they've been averaging an even more impressive 3.7 strikeouts. Will Geneva keep running through batters, or will the Royals buck the trend?
Geneva beat The First Academy 10-5 in their previous matchup two weeks ago. Will the Knights repeat their success, or do the Royals have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
