Basketball Recap: North Canyon Takes a Loss

North Canyon lost against Willow Canyon back in February of 2022 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The North Canyon Rattlers had to suffer through a 56-28 loss at the hands of the Willow Canyon Wildcats.

Willow Canyon got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Kandace O?Connell out in front who went 6 of 15 en route to 16 points and seven steals. O?Connell is crushing it when it comes to steals: she's grabbed at least three every time she's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Sarah Karnitz, who dropped a double-double on 13 points and 11 rebounds.

North Canyon's defeat dropped their record down to 4-4. As for Willow Canyon, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matches, which provided a nice bump to their 4-2 record this season.

North Canyon wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 61-40 loss against Paradise Valley on the 13th. As for Willow Canyon, a feisty cat fight will be fought when the Willow Canyon Wildcats challenge the Liberty Lions at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
