Baseball Recap: Nipomo Gets the Win

Nipomo made up a huge gap compared to their last game against Immanuel, but they still couldn't quite topple them. Nipomo never let Immanuel get on the board and left with a 7-0 victory on Saturday. This was payback for the Titans, who suffered a 19-3 loss the last time these two teams met.

Nipomo got a great performance from Aiden Mendoza as he didn't allow a single earned run over five innings pitched. Mendoza also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because Nipomo is 3-1 when he allows at most one earned run, but 0-3 otherwise.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Griffin Groshart, who scored a run while going 2-for-2. Chase Moulden also deserves some recognition as he brought in his first RBI of the season.

Nipomo's win bumped their record up to 3-4. As for Immanuel, their defeat was their first of the season and makes their record 7-1.

Coming up, Nipomo will head out to challenge Santa Ynez at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Nipomo is facing Santa Ynez at the right time seeing as Santa Ynez is stuck on a three-game losing streak. As for Immanuel, they will welcome Selma at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
