Softball Recap: Cushing Comes Up Short

Cushing has relied on a stalwart pitchers averaging 3.89 runs allowed per game, but that average took a hit on Thursday. They came up short against the Alto Yellowjackets, falling 16-9. The loss continues a trend for the Bearkats in their meetings with the Yellowjackets: they've now lost eight in a row.

Cushing's defeat dropped their record down to 11-7-1. As for Alto, the win (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 6-3-1.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Cushing will take on Douglass at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Alto, it'll be a Battle of the Bugs Alto Yellowjackets challenge New Summerfield Hornets at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
