Basketball Recap: Dooly County Gets the Win

Dooly County hasn't had much luck at home recently (they'd lost four straight ) but thanks in part to Jamonte Taylor that streak is no more. The Bobcats took down the Telfair County Trojans 67-51 on Friday with plenty of help from Taylor, who went 7-for-15 to rack up 24 points. His big performance that evening made it three games in a row in which he has scored at least 17 points.

The team also got some help courtesy of Lucas Kentavious, who posted six points and nine rebounds. He is also on a roll when it comes to field goal percentage, as he's posted one of at least 50% in the last eight games he's played.

When it comes to explaining why Telfair County lost, don't look at Jd. Sutton. Despite the final result, he dropped a double-double with 12 points and 13 boards. With that strong performance, Sutton is now averaging an impressive 8.1 rebounds per game. Another player making a difference was Dj. Jordan, who had four points in addition to six assists and three steals.

Dooly County's victory bumped their record up to 5-9. As for Telfair County, their loss dropped their record down to 4-16.

Dooly County wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 51-30 defeat against Wilcox County on the 24th. As for Telfair County, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, an 80-74 win against Wheeler County on the 24th.
