Soccer Game Preview: Pitman vs. Modesto

The Pitman Pride will challenge the Modesto Panthers at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Neither squad made it on the board the last time they hit the pitch, so they've probably got a bit of extra motivation.

Pitman is likely headed into the contest with a focus on the second half, which is when things went downhill against Downey on Thursday. Pitman fell just short of Downey by a score of 2-1.

Meanwhile, Modesto was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their sixth straight loss. They took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of Gregori. While losing is never fun, the Panthers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 997th, while the Jaguars are ranked 145th).

Modesto's defeat dropped their record down to 1-15-3. As for Pitman, their loss dropped their record down to 12-4-2.

Pitman took their win against Modesto in their previous meeting two weeks ago by a conclusive 9-1. In that match, Pitman amassed a halftime lead of 4-0, an impressive feat they'll look to repeat on Tuesday.
