Football Recap: Perry County Central Takes a Loss

After flying high against Magoffin County last Saturday, Perry County Central came back down to earth. The Commodores received a blow on Friday as they fell 36-20 to the Letcher County Central Cougars. The Commodores lost against the Cougars in their previous head to head back in October of 2024, too, but the margin this time around was much closer than the 52-7 score last time.

Perry County Central's loss was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 1-3. As for Letcher County Central, they now have a winning record of 2-1.

Perry County Central will have a little extra prep time after the defeat as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Paris at 7:30 p.m. on the 26th. As for Letcher County Central, they are taking a road trip to take on Breathitt County at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Cougars will be up against the Bobcats' rather soft defense (which has allowed 28 points per contest), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance.
