Basketball Game Preview: South Broward Bulldogs vs. Northeast Hurricanes

Having just played yesterday, the South Broward Bulldogs will head out on the road to face off against the Northeast Hurricanes at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Both come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

South Broward is headed into the match having just posted their biggest win since December 5, 2024 on Tuesday. They really took it to West Broward for the full four quarters, racking up a 52-18 victory. The score at the end of the third wound up being the final score as the Bulldogs just coasted through the last quarter.

South Broward found their leader in freshman Paris George, who went 5 for 9 on her way to 11 points in addition to six assists and six steals. George is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed four or more in the last five games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Ayonna Lewis, who posted eight points and four steals.

South Broward was working as a unit and finished the game with 14 assists. That's the most assists they've posted since back in January of 2024.

Meanwhile, Northeast entered their tilt with Timber Creek on Saturday with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. They managed a 59-55 win over the Wolves.

South Broward's victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 9-7. Those victories came thanks to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 22.0 points per game. As for Northeast, their record is now 12-1.

Everything came up roses for South Broward against Northeast in their previous matchup back in December of 2023, as the squad secured a 72-42 win. One of the biggest obstacles the team faced in that game was Northeast's Ya?Niyah Young, who dropped a double-double on 18 points and ten boards. Now that she's got a second chance to win this matchup, will South Broward still be able to contain Young? There's only one way to find out.
