Softball Recap: El Segundo's Win on Friday Extends Winning Streak to Three

El Segundo had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 7 runs) and they went ahead and made it three on Friday. They came within a single run of losing the streak, but they secured a 4-3 W against the South Spartans. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 8-5 back in April.

Jacy Lindsay spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned runs on seven hits. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in three consecutive appearances.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Sienna Mayer, who went 2-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and one double. Allie Stevenson also deserves some recognition as she snagged her first stolen base of the season.

El Segundo's record now sits at 21-5. As for South, their defeat dropped their record down to 12-12.

El Segundo didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 9-2 victory against Valley Christian on the 7th. As for South, they have also already played their next match, a 16-2 loss against Torrance on the 5th.
