Preview: Mead Raiders vs. Meridian Mustangs
The Mead Raiders will head out on the road to square off against the Meridian Mustangs at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Mead is still on the hunt for that elusive first 'W'.
Last Friday, Mead was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap as they fell 38-34 to Omaha Christian Academy.
Mead's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Taylar Shull, who scored 11 points along with seven steals, and Riley Koranda who scored six points along with three steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Shull has scored all season.
Meanwhile, a well-balanced attack led Meridian over Silver Lake in every quarter on their way to victory on Friday. Meridian blew past Silver Lake 43-22. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Meridian.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Meridian to victory, but perhaps none more so than Ana Dimas, who scored 15 points along with four steals. Dimas is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed three or more in the last five games she's played. Another player making a difference was McKenzie Hofstetter, who scored seven points along with six steals.
Mead's loss was their 14th straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 0-21. As for Meridian, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five games, which provided a nice bump to their 11-9 record this season.
