Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Lovelady). Everything went their way against the Latexo Tigers on Tuesday as the Lovelady Lions made off with a 17-1 victory. The result was nothing new for the Lions, who have now won six matches by eight runs or more so far this season.
Ryder Lovell was a standout: he scored two runs while going 2-for-2. That's the most hits he has posted since back in February. The team also got some help courtesy of Brady Mikes, who scored two runs while going 2-for-2.
Lovell wasn't the only one working in the hit department: Lovelady kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Latexo only managed five hits.
Lovelady's win bumped their record up to 10-7-1. As for Latexo, they dropped their record down to 5-8 with the loss, which was their tenth straight on the road dating back to last season.
Coincidentally, Lovelady and Latexo will both be playing Centerville the next time they take the field. Lovelady will head out to face Centerville at 7:00 p.m. on Friday, while Latexo will head out to face them at 7:00 p.m. on April 1st.
