Gate City and Central Wise are an even 5-5 against one another since October of 2015, but not for long. The Blue Devils will be playing in front of their home fans against the Warriors at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, these teams will really light up the scoreboard.

Gate City barely beat Lee the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Blue Devils took their game last Friday with ease, bagging a 42-0 victory over the Generals. The win continues a trend for the Blue Devils in their matchups with the Generals: they've now won eight in a row.

Gate City's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Walker Hillman led the charge by rushing for 72 yards and one TD on only six carries. Zayne Reed was another key signal caller, throwing for 101 yards and a pair of touchdowns on only five passes.

Wins are hard to come by when you can't run the rock, something Gate City proved: they limited Lee to a paltry zero yards per carry. The Blue Devils didn't have any issues in that department, having averaged 5.6.

Meanwhile, Central Wise was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their sixth straight defeat. They fell 42-35 to Lee. On the bright side, the 35- point performance marked the Warriors' highest-scoring contest to date.

Central Wise's loss dropped their record down to 1-7. As for Gate City, their victory bumped their record up to 6-2.

Gate City strolled past Central Wise in their previous matchup back in November of 2024 by a score of 25-7. Do the Blue Devils have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Warriors turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
