Mexia is 10-0 against Teague since February of 2015 and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Tuesday. The Mexia Black Cats will look to defend their home court against the Teague Lions at 7:30 p.m. Teague took a loss in their last contest and will be looking to turn the tables on Mexia, who comes in off a win.

Mexia is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They blew past Fairfield 93-61 on Friday. With the Black Cats ahead 45-21 at the half, the match was all but over already.

Meanwhile, it was a proper cat-fight when Teague took on Kerens on Saturday. Teague took a 63-52 hit to the loss column at the hands of Kerens.

Mexia will have to contain Brayden Leija as he made an impact in Teague's last game. He went 8 of 19 en route to 20 points and six rebounds. That's the most points Leija has posted since back in February of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Clifford Coleman, who posted 11 points and five steals.

Even though they lost, Teague smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 14 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 12 offensive boards in five consecutive games.

Teague's loss dropped their record down to 4-10. As for Mexia, their win bumped their record up to 13-10.

Everything came up roses for Mexia against Teague in their previous matchup back in February of 2024, as the team secured a 95-42 victory. In that contest, Mexia amassed a halftime lead of 52-24, an impressive feat they'll look to repeat on Tuesday.
