Basketball Recap: Lassiter Falls Despite Big Games from Charlie Wright and TJ Shinkle

Lassiter was the 59-49 winner over Cambridge when they last played one another back in December of 2023, but their luck changed this time around. The Lassiter Trojans fell just short of the Cambridge Bears by a score of 50-47 on Friday.

TJ Shinkle and Charlie Wright certainly did their best on Friday to avoid the loss. Shinkle went 5 for 10 on his way to 14 points, while Wright posted eight points and three steals. The dominant performance gave Wright a new career-high in steals.

Lassiter has been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 8-5 record this season. As for Cambridge, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 6-5.

Lassiter didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 54-47 defeat against Centennial on the 21st. As for Cambridge, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 68-59 win against Alpharetta on the 21st.
