Basketball Recap: Mankato East Picks Up 12th Consecutive Win

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Mankato East). They simply couldn't be stopped on Monday as they easily beat the New Ulm Eagles 100-45. The Cougars have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won ten matches by 24 points or more this season.

The win (which was Mankato East's 12th in a row) raised their record to 13-1. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 33.7 points. As for New Ulm, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost eight of their last nine contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-10 record this season.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Mankato East will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Century at 7:30 p.m. on January 28th.
