Basketball Recap: Fort Zumwalt West Comes Up Short

If Fort Zumwalt West was riding high fresh off their 61-40 takedown of Liberty last Wednesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Fort Zumwalt West Jaguars came up short against the Howell Vikings on Friday, falling 66-45. While losing is never fun, the Jaguars can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Missouri basketball rankings (they are ranked 41st, while the Vikings are ranked eighth).

Fort Zumwalt West's defeat dropped their record down to 9-3. As for Howell, their victory bumped their record up to 14-2.

Fort Zumwalt West will have a little extra prep time after the loss as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Liberty at 5:30 p.m. on February 4th. Fort Zumwalt West is facing Liberty at the right time seeing as Liberty is stuck on a three-game losing streak. Howell also won't see the court for a while: their next game is against Troy-Buchanan at 5:30 p.m. on February 4th.
