Baseball Recap: Sealy Takes a Loss

Sealy dropped their record down to 12-13 on Thursday, which also ended the team's three-game streak of wins on the road. They came up short against the Almeta Crawford Chargers, falling 11-5. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss the Tigers have suffered since March 19, 2024.

Weston Cryan and Jackson Blanks stepped up to the plate in a big way. Cryan went 1-for-2 with two runs, one double, and one RBI, while Blanks went a perfect 3-for-3 with two RBI.

As for Almeta Crawford, they are on a roll lately: they've won 17 of their last 18 matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 22-3-3 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.3 runs on average over those games.

On Almeta Crawford's side, TJ Weaver looked comfortable as he didn't allow a single earned run over four innings pitched. Weaver has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in seven consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Alec Baldauf, who went 1-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base. Another player making a difference was Johnny Garcia, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with two runs.
