Softball Recap: Blooming Grove Takes a Loss

Blooming Grove extended their losing streak to three on Friday, dropping their season record down to 28-7 in the process. They fell 3-0 to the East Bernard Brahmas. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Brahmas this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 9-2 on Thursday.

As for East Bernard, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 18 of their last 19 matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 25-8 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.1 runs on average over those games.

For East Bernard's part, the result came thanks to Rylie Holder's shutout, as she gave up just two hits and racked up six Ks. Holder has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in 18 consecutive appearances.

At the plate, East Bernard's victory was truly a team effort as three different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Taylor Viktorin, who went 1-for-2 with one run.

As of now, neither Blooming Grove nor the Brahmas have any future games scheduled.
