Recap: Memorial Day Matadors vs. Thomas Heyward Academy Rebels
On Tuesday, Memorial Day lost to Thomas Heyward Academy on the road by a decisive 45-30 margin. Memorial Day has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Despite the loss, Memorial Day saw an underclassman step up: Jaylnn Brown dropped a double-double on 12 points and 12 rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Sophie Welles, who scored 8 points.
Memorial Day's defeat dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Thomas Heyward Academy, the win got them back to even at 1-1.
Memorial Day will be playing at home against The Habersham School at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. Hopefully The Habersham School focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 20 on Tuesday. As for Thomas Heyward Academy, they will head out on the road to face off against Coastal HomeSchool at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Coastal HomeSchool focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 13 last Monday.
