Softball Recap: Emerald Ridge Comes Up Short

Emerald Ridge and Issaquah squared off in some playoff action on Friday, but Emerald Ridge had to settle for second. They fell just short of the Eagles by a score of 4-3. The Jaguars' defeat signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.

Alanna Wirtala spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered four earned runs on six hits and racked up nine Ks. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in 17 consecutive appearances.
