Volleyball Recap: Soquel Turns Things Around After Road Loss

There's no place like home for Soquel, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Saturday. They walked away with a 3-1 win over the Mercy Bears on Saturday. This was payback for the Knights, who suffered a 2-0 loss the last time these two teams met.

Soquel was especially dominant in the fourth set. The match finished with set scores of 25-21, 25-23, 19-25, 25-15.

Rebecca Aiello paced Soquel's offense, picking up 13 kills. Aiello got some help from Ashby Weeks and her 24 assists. Weeks was also solid from the service line: she led the team with four aces.

Soquel now has a winning record of 12-11. As for Mercy, their defeat was their sixth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 9-14.

Coming up, Soquel will be playing in front of their home fans against Harbor at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Pirates will roll in looking for their seventh straight victory, something the Knights surely won't give up without a fight. As for Mercy, they will head out on the road to square off against Harker at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
