Baseball Recap: Lyndhurst Starts off Right with Win over Becton

Lyndhurst had to kick off their season on the road on Monday, but they showed no ill effects. They never let the Becton Wildcats get on the board and left with a 5-0 win. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Golden Bears also won the last time the pair played back in May of 2024.

Tyler Herman was a major factor no matter where he played. He didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out eight over five innings pitched. Herman was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with two RBI.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Ryli Pineiro, who went 2-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and one double. Those two runs gave him a new career-high.
