Basketball Recap: Pan-American's Victory on Thursday Extends Winning Streak to Three

Pan-American proved they can win big last Tuesday (they won by 46) and on Thursday they proved they can win the close ones too. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 61-59 win over the West Phoenix Eagles. The victory was nothing new for Pan-American as they're now sitting on three straight.

Despite the loss, West Phoenix still got an impressive performance from Isaiah Brown, who posted 37 points. Brown's evening made it 11 games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Kealin Covington, who put up 13 points.

Pan-American's win ended a four-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 4-6. As for West Phoenix, their defeat was their ninth straight at home dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 1-10.

Pan-American and West Phoenix could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps Arizona Rankings. Pan-American (ranked 195th) will meet Dream City Christian National (ranked 12th) at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, West Phoenix will take on East Valley Athletes for Christ at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday down 198 places (230 vs. 32).
