Despite the loss, West Phoenix still got an impressive performance from Isaiah Brown, who posted 37 points. Brown's evening made it 11 games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Kealin Covington, who put up 13 points.
Pan-American's win ended a four-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 4-6. As for West Phoenix, their defeat was their ninth straight at home dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 1-10.
Pan-American and West Phoenix could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps Arizona Rankings. Pan-American (ranked 195th) will meet Dream City Christian National (ranked 12th) at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, West Phoenix will take on East Valley Athletes for Christ at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday down 198 places (230 vs. 32).
