Basketball Game Preview: Morrison Mustangs vs. Erie-Prophetstown Panthers

Having just played yesterday, the Morrison Mustangs will head out on the road to face off against the Erie-Prophetstown Panthers at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.

On Thursday, Morrison came up short against Galena and fell 59-52. While losing is never fun, the Mustangs can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings (they are ranked 273rd, while the Pirates are ranked 131st).

Meanwhile, even if it wasn't a dominant performance, Erie-Prophetstown beat Kewanee 36-32 on Friday. The 36-point effort marked the Panthers' lowest-scoring contest of the season, but in the end it didn't matter.

Morrison's loss ended a six-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 4-4. As for Erie-Prophetstown, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 2-3.

Morrison strolled past Erie-Prophetstown in their previous meeting back in February by a score of 53-39. The rematch might be a little tougher for Morrison since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
