Baseball Recap: Ayden - Grifton Snaps Four-Game Streak of Wins on the Road

Ayden - Grifton was the 7-3 winner over Princeton when they last played one another back in April of 2023, but their luck changed this time around. The Chargers fell just short of the Bulldogs by a score of 4-3 on Monday.

Ayden - Grifton got a good showing from Slater Persinger, who didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits over four innings pitched. Persinger has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in five consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Ayden - Grifton saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Camden Wilson, who went 1-for-3 with one home run and two stolen bases. That home run marked the first that Wilson launched this season.

Ayden - Grifton's loss ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 13-5. As for Princeton, their victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 12-5.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Ayden - Grifton will host Roanoke Rapids at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Princeton, they will be playing at home against Nash Central at 6:30 p.m. on the 22nd.
