Softball Recap: Buffalo Grove Takes a Loss

Buffalo Grove lost to Hersey back in April and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Bison lost 13-5 to the Huskies. That's two games in a row now that the Bison have lost by exactly eight runs.

Leah Hampton was cooking despite her team's loss, going 2-for-4 with one home run and two RBI. Hailey Barbakoff also deserves some recognition as she brought in her first RBI of the season.

Buffalo Grove has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost six of their last eight games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 9-15 record this season. As for Hersey, with the victory, they broke their four-game losing streak and moved their record to 8-10.

Coming up, Buffalo Grove will challenge Lake Park at 4:45 p.m. on Friday. The Lancers' pitching crew has only allowed 2.2 runs per game this season, so the Bison's hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Hersey, they will face off against Stevenson at 4:45 p.m. on Friday. The Huskies' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Patriots have averaged an impressive 7.8 runs per game this season.
