Volleyball Recap: Mound City Comes Up Short

Mound City saw some tournament action on Saturday. They fell 2-0 to the Maryville Spoofhounds. The Panthers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back matches.

Maryville was led to victory by Channing Minton and Evelyn Branner. Minton had ten digs and seven aces, while Branner had 12 digs and two aces. That's the most digs Branner has posted over her last 11 matches.

Mound City's loss dropped their record down to 8-6-1. As for Maryville, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 16-6 record this season.

Mound City does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Maryville, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 2-1 win against Capital City on the 27th.
