Soccer Game Preview: Monticello vs. Rogers

The Monticello Magic will head out to square off against the Rogers Royals at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. Neither team made it on the board the last time they hit the pitch, so they've probably got a bit of extra motivation.

Thursday just wasn't the day for Monticello's offense. They came up short against Alexandria on Thursday, falling 3-0.

Meanwhile, Rogers was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They were a single goal away from ending the streak, but they lost a 2-1 heartbreaker at the hands of Buffalo. While losing is never fun, Rogers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Minnesota soccer rankings (they are ranked 29th, while Buffalo are ranked second).

Monticello suffered their first road defeat, dropping their record down to 8-4-1. As for Rogers, their loss dropped their record down to 7-3-1.
