Basketball Recap: Mitchell Takes a Loss

Mitchell was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their eighth straight defeat. They fell 35-23 to the Alameda Pirates.

It was another big night for Claire To, who dropped a double-double with 27 points and 11 steals for Alameda. The dominant performance gave To a new career-high in points. Another player making a difference was Minerva Santos, who posted two points in addition to ten boards and three blocks.

Mitchell's record is now 3-19. As for Alameda, they have been performing well recently as they've won six of their last eight contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-5 record this season.

Mitchell will be playing in front of their home fans against Walsenburg at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Alameda, they are taking a road trip to take on Arvada at 5:30 p.m. on Friday.
