Basketball Recap: Collinwood Comes Up Short

Collinwood was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat. They were dealt a 69-40 loss at the hands of the Wayne County Wildcats. The match marked the Trojans' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Cayman Camfield was his usual excellent self, going 7 of 14 on his way to 18 points along with seven boards and three steals for Wayne County. What's more, Camfield also racked up two blocks, the most he's had since back in February of 2024. Another player making a difference was Will Robertson, who went 6 for 11 en route to 16 points.

Collinwood's defeat dropped their record down to 1-8. As for Wayne County, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 14-7.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Collinwood has already played their next game (against Wilson), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. A feisty cat fight is on tap when the Wayne County Wildcats duke it out with the Mars Hill Bible Panthers at 7:00 p.m. on Monday.
