Soccer Game Preview: Hazleton Area vs. Crestwood + How To Watch

Hazleton Area hasn't had much luck against Crestwood recently, but that could start to change on Thursday. The Cougars will take on the Comets at 4:15 p.m. Hazleton Area has given up an average of 3.6 goals per game this season, but Thursday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Hazleton Area lost 5-2 to Berwick on Monday. Hazleton Area were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 3-0.

Ruby Myers and Isabella Ciavarella scored both of Hazleton Area's goals, bringing their combined season tally to 15 goals.

Meanwhile, Crestwood faced Wilkes-Barre in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Wednesday. The Comets were the clear victors by a 5-1 margin over the Wolfpack. Considering Crestwood have won eight contests by more than three goals this season, Wednesday's blowout was nothing new.

The win was the third in a row for Crestwood, bringing their record up to 10-1. Those victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only given up one goal over those three matches. As for Hazleton Area, their loss dropped their record down to 5-7-1.

Hazleton Area might still be hurting after the 8-0 defeat they got from Crestwood when the teams last played back in September. Can the Cougars avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
