Baseball Recap: Golden Sierra Grizzlies vs. Rio Vista Rams

After a string of eight wins, Golden Sierra's good fortune finally ran out on Thursday. They fell just short of the Rio Vista Rams by a score of 11-10. Golden Sierra was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Rio Vista apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played last Tuesday.

Tony Alvarez was huge no matter where he played even without the win. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out eight batters over five innings while giving up four earned runs off only one hit. Alvarez was also stellar in the batter's box, scoring three runs while going 3-for-4.

In other batting news, Jacob Rodenbaugh and Logan Borovich did some serious damage despite the final result: Rodenbaugh got on base in all four of his plate appearances with three RBI, a stolen base, and a double, while Borovich went 3-for-4 with three RBI, a triple, and a run.
