Recap: Spencer Greenwave vs. Academy for Classical Education Gryphons
The Spencer Greenwave stacked a 14th blowout win onto their ever-increasing hoard on Friday. They blew past Academy for Classical Education 62-34 on the road. The victory was just what Spencer needed coming off of a 62-36 defeat in their prior match.
Spencer was led to victory by Malaja Dyous and Naomi Berk. Dyous dropped a double-double on 14 points and ten rebounds, while Berk scored 17 points along with seven steals. Berk is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last eight games she's played. Another player making a difference was Areyonah Hood, who scored two points along with six rebounds and two steals.
Spencer's lineup was just a bit different on Friday as Hood got a bit more time on the court (15 vs. her season average of 7.17). Hood made the most of the opportunity, scoring two points along with six rebounds and two steals. A few more games like that and she might be seeing even more time going forward.
Spencer is on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last ten matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 18-7 record this season. As for Academy for Classical Education, their defeat was their fourth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 10-12.
Spencer does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
