Basketball Game Preview: Tunstall Trojans vs. Martinsville Bulldogs

Tunstall and Martinsville are an even 5-5 against one another since January of 2019, but not for long. The Tunstall Trojans will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against the Martinsville Bulldogs at 7:00 p.m. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

Tunstall is probably headed into the contest with a chip on their shoulder considering George Washington just ended the team's four-game winning streak on Friday. They came up short against the Eagles, falling 67-47. While losing is never fun, the Trojans can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Virginia basketball rankings (they are ranked 311th, while the Eagles are ranked 16th).

Meanwhile, Martinsville suffered their closest defeat since December 22, 2023 on Saturday. They fell just short of Rockingham County by a score of 60-58. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game on Friday (57), the Bulldogs still had to take the loss.

Tunstall's loss dropped their record down to 5-11. As for Martinsville, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-8.

Things could have been worse for Tunstall, but things could have been a whole lot better as they took a 43-28 loss to Martinsville in their previous meeting back in December of 2024.
