There's no place like home for Elk Grove, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Tuesday. They had just enough and edged out the Franklin Wildcats 3-2 on Thursday. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Thundering Herd have posted against the Wildcats since April 28, 2021.

It was an exciting match in which no team won back-to-back sets, but at the end of the day Elk Grove got the one that really mattered. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-21, 18-25, 25-23, 20-25, 15-13.

Elk Grove's win was their first in the league, bumping their league record up to 1-3 and their overall record up to 8-6. As for Franklin, they are on a seven-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-8.

Coming up, Elk Grove will be playing in front of their home fans against Westlake Charter at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Franklin, they will venture away from home to take on Mesa Verde at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
