Softball Game Preview: Baker County Wildcats vs. Baldwin Indians

The Baker County Wildcats will face off against the Baldwin Indians at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Both teams are coming into the game red-hot, with Baker County sitting on five straight wins and Baldwin on six.

Baker County's pitching crew heads into the match hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Monday. They came out on top against Paxon School For Advanced Studies by a score of 4-0.

Not much got past Rylee Walker, who gave up just two hits and racked up nine Ks to keep Paxon School For Advanced Studies off the board. That's the most strikeouts Walker has posted since back in April of 2024.

At the plate, Masyn Barlow was excellent, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs and one triple. That's the most runs she has posted since back in April of 2024.

Meanwhile, Baldwin had just enough and edged out Columbia 5-3 on Thursday.

The team relied heavily on Jazmine Ramos-Merced, who went 2-for-3 with one home run and four RBI. Makaila Fry was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-3.

Baldwin's victory was their seventh straight at home, which pushed their record up to 10-3. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.0 runs over those games. As for Baker County, their victory bumped their record up to 12-2-1.
