Softball Recap: Grace Community Wins Going Away Against Winona

Grace Community's game on March 7th was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Monday. Their pitcher stepped up to hand the Winona Wildcats a 15-0 shutout. The contest marked the Cougars' most dominant win of the season so far.

Isabel Buchanan was incredible, firing off two home runs, five RBI, and three runs while going 2-for-2. Those two home runs gave her a new career-high. Macie Mathis also deserves some recognition as she brought in her first RBI of the season.

The victory got Grace Community back to even at 5-5. As for Winona, their loss was their ninth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 0-10.

Grace Community will get to enjoy the win for a while: their next game is against Slocum at 4:00 p.m. on April 17. As for Winona, they will venture away from home to take on Edgewood at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
