Softball Recap: Bertie Takes a Loss

Bertie lost against Gates County last Wednesday, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Falcons lost 20-4 to the Red Barons. The Falcons' defeat continues a trend for the team, making it four in a row.

Bertie saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Gracie Jones, who scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-2. Alexia Dickerson also deserves some recognition as she hit her first double of the season.

Bertie's loss dropped their record down to 5-12. As for Gates County, their win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 10-6.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Bertie will challenge rival North East Carolina Prep at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Gates County is set to square off against their familiar foe Perquimans at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
