Softball Recap: Hatton Hornets vs. Austin Black Bears
Hatton lost against Austin back in March of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. The Hornets fell just short of the Black Bears by a score of 5-4. The Hornets have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Morgan Lane and Anna Potter did some serious damage despite the final result: Lane scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-2, while Potter went 1-for-2 with one stolen base and two RBI. That stolen base was Lane's first of the season.
Hatton's defeat dropped their record down to 10-17-1. As for Austin, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 21-9-1 record this season.
Hatton will take on Central at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. The Hornets' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Wildcats have averaged an impressive 7.5 runs per game this season.
