Soccer Game Preview: Westwood Christian vs. Florida Christian

The Westwood Christian Warriors will square off against the Florida Christian Patriots at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Westwood Christian is currently enjoying a perfect season and no doubt wants to keep things rolling.

Westwood Christian's defense heads into the contest hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Tuesday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 1-0 win over Pinecrest Prep. The Warriors' defense has been rock solid lately; the team hasn't given up a goal in their last four matchups.

Their one-goal win came courtesy of Sophie Thomson, who's now up to 14 this season.

Meanwhile, while it was all tied up 0-0 at halftime, Florida Christian was not quite Monsignor Pace's equal in the second half on Wednesday. They fell just short of the Spartans by a score of 1-0. Considering the last time the Patriots couldn't score was back in November of 2024, the team can't take the result too hard.

Westwood Christian pushed their record up to 8-0-1 with the victory, which was their seventh straight at home. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 32 goals over those seven games. As for Florida Christian, they have been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-7-1 record this season.

Everything went Westwood Christian's way against Florida Christian in their previous matchup back in December of 2024, as Westwood Christian made off with a 5-1 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Westwood Christian since the team won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
