Baseball Recap: Lemon Bay Comes Up Short

Lemon Bay and Barron Collier squared off in some playoff action on Monday, but Lemon Bay had to settle for second. They came up short against the Cougars, falling 17-3. The Manta Rays have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Lemon Bay saw seven different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Kyle Lackey, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.

Lemon Bay's defeat dropped their record down to 13-10. As for Barron Collier, they are on a roll lately: they've won 13 of their last 16 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 21-6 record this season.

While Lemon Bay had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
