St. Catherine dropped their record down to 23-3 on Friday, which also ended the team's eight-game streak of wins. They fell just short of the Bishop O'Connell Knights by a score of 1-0. Having soared to a lofty 11 runs in the game before, the Saints' shutout was a dramatic turnaround.

St. Catherine's saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Izzy Viruet, who got on base in all three of her plate appearances with one stolen base.

As for Bishop O'Connell, the win keeps they at an undefeated 20-0. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.5 runs on average over those games.

On Bishop O'Connell's side, not much got past Bri Lencz, who gave up just three hits and racked up nine Ks to keep St. Catherine's off the board. Lencz has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Abby Bond was excellent, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one stolen base and one RBI.

As of now, neither St. Catherine's nor Bishop O'Connell have any future games scheduled.
