Softball Recap: Franklin Community Has No Trouble Against Indian Creek

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Franklin Community). Everything went their way against the Indian Creek Braves on Monday as they made off with a 15-8 victory. With that win, the Grizzly Cubs brought their scoring average up to 7.8 runs per game.

Annabelle Richter made a big impact no matter where she played. She pitched four innings while giving up three earned runs off three hits. Richter was also big at the plate, going 1-for-5 with five RBI, one run, and one double. Those five RBI gave her a new career-high.

In other batting news, Charlee Cramer was incredible, going 3-for-4 with one home run and four RBI. Those three hits gave her a new career-high. Addie Mashino also deserves some recognition as she scored her first run of the season.

Franklin Community was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .400. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.

The victory made it two in a row for Franklin Community and bumps their season record up to 2-2. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 13.0 runs over those games. As for Indian Creek, their loss ended a ten-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 3-2.

Coming up, Franklin Community will face off against Perry Meridian at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Falcons will roll in looking for their fourth straight victory, something the Grizzly Cubs surely won't give up without a fight. As for Indian Creek, they will challenge Sullivan at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. This will be the Braves' first chance to prove their worth in the conference.
