It was a proper cat-fight when Blue Springs South challenged Raymore-Peculiar on Friday. The Blue Springs South Jaguars were the clear victor by a 65-40 margin over the Raymore-Peculiar Panthers. Given the Jaguars' advantage in MaxPreps' Missouri basketball rankings (they are ranked 15th, while the Panthers are ranked 78th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Blue Springs South's win ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 19-8. Even worse, they were so close so many times: the defeats came by an average of only 2.67 points. As for Raymore-Peculiar, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost eight of their last ten matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 11-14 record this season.
