Baseball Game Preview: Hayesville Yellowjackets vs. Hiwassee Dam Eagles

Hayesville has gone a perfect 10-0 against Hiwassee Dam recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Friday. The Hayesville Yellowjackets will take on the Hiwassee Dam Eagles at 4:30 p.m. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Hayesville has four straight wins, Hiwassee Dam has three straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the field.

Hayesville barely beat Hiwassee Dam the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. Hayesville was the clear victors by a 17-1 margin over Hiwassee Dam on Tuesday. The game marked the Yellowjackets' most dominant victory of the season so far.

Ben Bethel was a standout: he scored two runs and stole Two bases. while going 2-for-2. He is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last six games he's played. Another player making a difference was Michael Mauney, who went 2-for-3 with one triple, two RBI, and one run.

Bethel wasn't the only one working in the hit department: Hayesville kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 15 hits. That's the most hits they've posted since back in April of 2024.

Hayesville now has a winning record of 4-3. As for Hiwassee Dam, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-7-1.
