Basketball Recap: Dynamic Duo of Keani Mcdonald and Saige Barney Lead ALA - Gilbert North to Victory

ALA - Gilbert North's game last Wednesday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Wednesday. They blew past the Crismon Rattlers 48-27. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest win the Eagles have posted since November 30, 2024.

Leading ALA - Gilbert North to victory were Saige Barney and Keani Mcdonald. Barney went 6 for 10 from beyond the arc en route to 18 points and four steals, while Mcdonald went 6 of 14 on her way to 18 points and three steals. The dominant performance gave Mcdonald a new career-high in points. Summer Sitton also deserves some recognition as she scored her first points of the season.

ALA - Gilbert North was working as a unit and finished the game with 15 assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Crismon only posted seven assists.

Despite the defeat, Crismon saw an underclassman step up: freshman Miley Rezvani went 6 of 15 en route to 16 points.

ALA - Gilbert North's record is now 7-13. As for Crismon, they have been struggling recently as they've lost nine of their last ten matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-12 record this season.

ALA - Gilbert North wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 34-21 victory against Combs on the 24th. Crismon has also already played their next contest, a 50-35 win against ALA - Queen Creek on the 24th.
