Recap: Poetry Community Christian Pioneer vs. First Baptist Saints
The Poetry Community Christian Pioneer suffered their biggest defeat yet this season on Friday. They had to suffer through a rough 83-19 loss at the hands of First Baptist. Poetry Community Christian was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 53-13.
Several Pioneer players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Alex Fernandez Woods, who scored six points along with two steals. That's the first time this season that Fernandez Woods grabbed two or more steals. Ayan Hamilton was another key contributor, scoring six points.
Poetry Community Christian has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost six of their last seven matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-12 record this season. As for First Baptist, the win (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 17-9.
Poetry Community Christian will be playing in front of their home fans against Heritage Christian at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Heritage Christian is still on the hunt for that elusive first 'W'. As for First Baptist, they will head out on the road to face off against Trinity School of Texas at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Trinity School of Texas is out to stop a three-game streak of losses at home.
